What You’ll Do – Service

This position involves maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Rotating Equipment Solutions (RES) onsite at customer locations throughout the Lower Mainland/Metro Vancouver, as well as equipment sent to SKEANS for in-house assessment and repair. This position will service piston, vane and rotary screw air compressors, blowers, vacuum pumps, air dryers and will also install compressed air pipe systems.

With strong mechanical aptitude and pride in work, the position contributes to adding value for our customers and meeting service timelines on an ongoing basis, as well as adapting to changing priorities.

Working in the field at customer sites and at our in-house repair shop, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Perform on-site service calls for customers, including start-up coordination of RES equipment
  • Follow up on Service Contracts and Warranty Evaluation of customers’ equipment
  • Perform aluminum piping installation
  • Project management for new compressor room designs and implementation
  • Conduct air audits and surveys (training provided)
  • Coordinate customer quotes for service work and parts with the Service Coordinator
  • Assist sales team and customers with technical assistance

What We’re Looking For

Experience counts, but the most important thing is your attitude:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Service Technician role or similar and a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic certificate.
  • Red Seal Electrician tickets are also considered an advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with basic electrical knowledge – control voltage and high voltage.
  • Project management, pneumatic automation and compressed air knowledge is an asset.
  • Genuinely curious – eager to learn new products, systems, and processes
  • You are reliable, adaptable, and take ownership of your work
  • You’re physically capable: lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/moving, and working safely
  • You’re comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • You bring good hearing, vision, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination
  • You have a strong sense of organization and attention to detail
  • You’re confident with basic math and have a mechanical mindset
  • Availability for some weekend emergency shut down work
  • Ability to travel to the USA for supplier training.
  • Bring your own tools, in addition to company-owned specialized tools.

Industrial Mechanic and Electrician experience is an asset, but we’ll train the right person with the right energy.
