Charity and Awareness Events: History of the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Campaign How it all began� Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is a valued Halloween tradition that has continued over the past 50 years with children carrying the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF collection box on Halloween night. It all began in 1950, when a small Sunday School class in Philadelphia decided to collect coins instead of candy on Halloween. They sent their inspirational donation of $17 to UNICEF and an idea was born. At first, Canadians sent Halloween collections to UNICEF in the United States. Then, in 1955, the Canadian UNICEF Committee was formed. In the first year alone, Canadian children collected $15,000. Activated alumina desiccant is an excellent all-purpose desiccant for drying air with high relative humidity. Dewpoints of -60�F can be achieved (depending on the dryer design). Activated alumina can be used in both heated and heatless / pressure swing dryers.
